JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Penn State Smeal Professional Graduate Programs is seeking to hire Teaching Support Specialists (TSS) to assist with online course delivery and instruction for the online master’s and graduate certificate portfolio spanning a variety of specialty areas including Online MBA; Accounting Foundations; Business Analytics; Corporate Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Marketing Analytics and Insights; Strategic Management and Executive Leadership; Supply Chain Management; and Taxation. Media outlets and independent observers regularly rank the Smeal College of Business among the best institutions in the world, and Penn State World Campus has been a recognized institution in U.S. News and World Report’s annual rankings of Best Online Programs since 2017.

TSSs are professionals in their respective fields with the appropriate background needed to assist with engagement of professional students and application of course concepts to contemporary business. Duties include but are not limited to assisting the lead instructor with feedback/grading, facilitation of discussion boards, moderation of live sessions, and course innovation. Additionally, TSSs will assist students with technical and course content issues upon request. The position requires competency in the application of principles and practices essential to modern business.
A Master's Degree or equivalent education and experience is required. Individuals who have completed a Penn State online master’s or graduate certificate or similar education are preferred.
Teaching Support Specialists have the potential to work remotely within the United States and will typically work 10-12 hours per week (average) on a contract basis. These positions are one semester, part-time appointments without guarantee of renewal. TSSs are paid based on credit assignment, $4000/semester/3 credit course. Prorated accordingly based on credit hours.
