Job Definition The Support Specialist, Business Systems is a critical role responsible for providing technical support for our core business applications, including our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a solid understanding of database concepts and the TSQL language.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for end‑users experiencing issues with WMS and ERP applications, diagnosing problems, providing solutions, and escalating complex issues to senior team members or vendors.

Develop and deliver training materials for new and existing users, and provide guidance on best practices to maximize system efficiency.

Collaborate with operations, logistics, finance, and other teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements; work with software vendors to resolve bugs and implement new features.

Assist with routine system maintenance, including user account management, permissions, and security.

Participate in junior development tasks for the WMS, including minor enhancements and bug fixes, as opportunities arise.

Develop and maintain documentation to improve team efficiency and user self‑service.

Maintain a cautious and methodical approach to problem‑solving, ensuring that any changes to data or systems are made carefully and with an understanding of potential impacts.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 4 years working with WMS/ERP systems and SQL Server.

Experience working in distribution/warehouse environment preferred.

Demonstrated experience with Microsoft TSQL for querying and manipulating data.

Hands‑on experience with a Warehouse Management System such as HighJump, Manhattan Associates, Red Prairie or similar.

Experience with barcode scanners, RFID technology, and other warehouse hardware, including handheld wireless devices and label printers.

Understanding of supply chain, inventory management, and logistics processes.

Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning systems a plus.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a proven track record of resolving technical issues.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non‑technical users.

Ability to make quick, yet careful decisions under pressure.

Proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Travel long distances throughout the offices and warehouse.

Must be able to work as a team member and interact with many co‑workers from other departments.

Must be able to work after business hours and weekends.

Required to travel to other CCOI facilities as needed; estimated travel less than 30 days annually.
