Position Summary
Cambrian College’s Schools of Health and Wellness requires a Dental Clinic Support Technologist on a regular part time basis. This position requires scheduling flexibility for both daytime and evening shifts.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs the critical elements and methods of biological decontamination, disinfection, inspection, packaging, sterilization, and sterile storage of dental instruments/devices adhering to current legislative standards (IPAC).
Assists with reception duties and administrative processes to support the day-to-day operations of the dental clinics.
Assists students with radiographic procedures during client clinics to support learning and ensure quality client care.
Instructs and supports students in performing radiographic and reprocessing procedures, ensuring tasks are completed safely and effectively in accordance with assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications
Minimum of Dental Assisting Level 2 or Dental Hygiene diploma (A copy of educational documents must be submitted with application *** education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES or ICAS with their application)
Current professional designation
Minimum of three years of experience working in a dental office including sterilization, reprocessing
Strong computer experience in Microsoft Office such as Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
High degree of initiative, work‑related flexibility, and creative problem‑solving skills.
The ability to advise and positively interact with students is important, as is the ability to work within a team environment.
Assets/Preferred
Certificate in Adult Education or one in process.
Intimate knowledge of ABELDent software.
Experience working within a postsecondary environment.
