Continuous Improvement Manager (Manufacturing)
We are seeking an experienced Continuous Improvement Manager to lead operational excellence initiatives at a complex manufacturing facility. This role will champion Lean Six Sigma projects, deliver measurable operational improvements, and generate financial benefits while driving a culture of continuous improvement across organization.
Location: Akron, OH
Salary: $125,000.00-$135,000.00
Must-Have Qualifications
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Lean Six Sigma and process improvement within a manufacturing environment
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, DMAIC, DFSS, Minitab, and process improvement tools
Proven project management skills, including leading teams across multiple business units
Ability to influence and interact with senior management effectively
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification
Experience in complex manufacturing organizations with matrix reporting relationships
Broad business knowledge with strong analytical and technical skills in metric development and team facilitation
Key Responsibilities
Lead multiple process improvement initiatives resulting in defect reduction, cost avoidance, loss reduction, or revenue enhancement
Serve as an internal expert and coach on Lean Six Sigma tools and methodologies for process owners and leadership
Recommend and facilitate quality and change management processes aligned with strategic objectives
Identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities in collaboration with the General Manager and VP of Operational Excellence
Participate in facility footprint studies and lead 100‑day kaizen transformation plans for selected value streams
Supervise and mentor indirect reports, including plant Lean/Six Sigma support staff and junior team members
Drive cost‑saving and process improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence tools
Link customer needs with business processes to achieve satisfaction goals with measurable financial impact
