Family-owned chemical manufacturer is seeking a color chemist to perform color matching and shading via eye on batches. An excellent opportunity to join a growing organization with great benefits! Responsibilities
Assists QC Lab Technicians by testing and conducting routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in process, and finished products using a variety of testing devices and procedures to maintain product quality. May perform duties of the Dispersion Lab Technician including obtaining batch tickets, collecting raw materials, completing batch ticket instructions, and correctly filling out batch tickets. Is independent in assigned tasks within the SAGE system as well as within the COROB/X-rite system. Performs batch shading and color corrections using the color computer when appropriate. Approves colorants. Makes intermediates following all company standards and batch ticket instructions. Approves batches independently. Signs off on batch approvals. Coordinates and participates in adherence to regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, International, Federal, State, and Local ordinances in relation to the chemicals present at the Company. Assists and ensures Company-wide compliance with product stewardship laws and regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT, GHS, etc. Consults with associates and supervisors to address safety, chemical, or handling concerns. Observes all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains the work area in a neat and orderly condition. Responsible for cleaning equipment after use. Performs all other duties as assigned. Technical Qualifications: Non degreed or bachelor’s in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related Basic mathematic skills Experience in Formulator and Sage, preference to know Xrite and Corob
