Project Accountant
to support project financial management, ensure accurate cost tracking, and strengthen reporting processes across multiple active jobs. This position plays a key role in partnering with project management and operations to maintain financial accuracy and support company growth.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and analyze job cost reports, prepare cost‑to‑complete forecasts, and ensure project budgets align with company financial goals.
Prepare and review AIA billings, monitor retainage, and ensure timely and accurate invoicing in compliance with contract terms.
Review, track, and reconcile change orders, ensuring all budget impacts are captured and reflected in project financials.
Lead month‑end project reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and assist with WIP schedules and variance analysis.
Partner with Project Managers and Operations to monitor job progress, resolve discrepancies, and improve cost‑control accuracy.
Maintain organized documentation to support audits, lien waivers, and contract compliance requirements.
Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and workflow automation.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
4–6 years of construction accounting experience, including project‑based cost tracking
Experience with
AIA Billing ,
Job Costing , and
Lien Releases
required
Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
