Overview Providing technical assistance in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures using sterile technique, imaging acquisition and processing, and emergency on‑call services.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.

Possess current or temporary Radiography license required by the state board where services will be provided.

Registered Radiography Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ( ARRT ) upon hire or within 6 months of graduation, depending on state.

Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.

State criminal background check and Federal check as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ( ACLS ) certification within one year of hire.

One year of experience as an interventional radiologic technologist.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and interpret hemodynamic monitoring.

Observe sterile technique while assembling supplies for physicians and lab personnel.

Maintain patient confidentiality.

Prepare entry site for procedure using sterile technique.

Continuously monitor patient’s ECG and blood pressure and advise the physician of all activity.

Participate in on‑call rotation and remain available for emergent procedures 24 h/day.

Act as laboratory code team member, initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillation under physician supervision.

Document all procedures and utilize the inventory control system; bill for all procedures.

Participate in educational and in‑service opportunities.

Instruct radiography students in clinical setting regarding positioning, technique, and use of accessory devices.

Maintain specialization in Neuroradiology and Vascular IR procedures.

Participate in inventory management of the department.

Check and prepare patients prior to procedure.

Participate in performance improvement activities.

Physical Requirements

Stand for long periods while wearing lead aprons.

Lift, push, or pull a minimum of 40 pounds.

Sit for extended periods of time.

Differentiate various shades of gray on imaging monitors.

Working Environment

Clinical environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, body fluids, chemicals, electrical shock, radiation, and moderate noise level.

Maintain radiation safety.

Skills and Abilities

Communicate professionally with physicians and peers.

Knowledgeable in sterile technique.

Knowledgeable in acquiring, archiving, and transmitting images to data storage.

Read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, operating manuals, product information, and regulations.

Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Solve practical problems with limited standardization of variables.
