About the Role
AI JOBS is hiring for one of its leading healthcare partners — a high-acuity hospital recognized for excellence in diagnostic and interventional care. We are seeking a
skilled and detail-oriented Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
to join the imaging team.
This position performs complex interventional and diagnostic procedures using fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, and laser systems during vascular and neuroradiology cases. The IR Technologist plays a vital role in supporting physicians, maintaining equipment functionality, and ensuring seamless patient care throughout procedures.
You’ll participate in procedure preparation, assist with circulating and scrubbing responsibilities, provide patient education, and help coordinate scheduling and inventory management within the Interventional Radiology department.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and assist with a variety of advanced vascular and interventional imaging procedures under physician direction.
Operate fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound, and related imaging equipment in compliance with radiation safety standards.
Prepare and position patients for interventional procedures, ensuring comfort, safety, and sterile technique.
Circulate and scrub during procedures while maintaining a clean and efficient lab environment.
Assist with patient care activities, teaching, and follow-up within scope of practice.
Manage inventory, supplies, and room setup to ensure efficient workflow.
Ensure timely documentation, coding, and PACS archiving of all imaging procedures.
Participate in quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting of imaging systems.
Demonstrate flexibility by working across shifts and campuses as required.
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to support optimal patient outcomes.
Maintain compliance with hospital, state, and federal policies, including infection control and safety protocols.
Adhere to organizational mission, values, and standards of excellence in professionalism and communication.
Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an
accredited school of Radiologic Technology
or equivalent approved program required.
Experience
Minimum
1 year of training or experience in special/interventional procedures
preferred.
Basic computer proficiency required.
Licenses & Certifications
Radiography (R)
by ARRT required.
Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
by ARRT required within 2 years of hire.
State Licensure
required:
Texas: MRT by TMB
Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTBE
New Mexico: RRT by MIRTP NMED
BLS (Basic Life Support)
required.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
preferred.
