About the Role AI JOBS is hiring on behalf of one of its leading healthcare partners for the position of Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist. The IR Technologist plays a vital role in performing complex, specialized diagnostic and therapeutic imaging procedures in vascular and neurointerventional radiology. This position involves operating fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), laser, and ultrasound equipment to assist physicians during image‑guided interventions.
The IR Technologist also supports departmental efficiency by coordinating patient flow, managing inventory, maintaining imaging systems, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This role requires technical proficiency, clinical precision, and a strong commitment to compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and assist with interventional and angiographic procedures using fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound imaging equipment.
Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and ensure comfort and safety throughout.
Serve as a scrub and circulating technologist during vascular and neurointerventional cases.
Monitor patients during and after procedures, providing appropriate care within the technologist’s scope of practice.
Ensure accurate image acquisition, processing, and storage in PACS; follow downtime procedures when necessary.
Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols.
Assist physicians and nurses during procedures and respond effectively to emergencies.
Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions; coordinate with biomedical services for resolution.
Maintain accurate documentation, logs, and records in compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Participate in quality assurance (QA) programs, safety initiatives, and ongoing professional education.
Demonstrate flexibility by working various shifts or at multiple campuses as needed.
Qualifications Education
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or equivalent required.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of training or experience in interventional or special procedures preferred.
Basic computer proficiency required.
Licenses & Certifications
ARRT certification in Radiography (R) required.
ARRT certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) required within 2 years of hire.
State Licensure required:
Texas: MRT by TMB
Louisiana: LRT (R) or (F) by LSRTBE
New Mexico: RRT by MIRTP NMED
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Fast‑paced interventional and angiography lab setting.
Requires adherence to radiation safety protocols and sterile field techniques.
Exposure to x‑rays, infectious materials, and high‑acuity patient care situations.
