The Universal Banker III (UB III) serves as a supervisor to Tellers, UB I, and UB II and acts as a back‑up to the Assistant Branch Manager. Under the guidance of branch management, the UB III will be scheduled to work both behind the teller line to manage the vault and teller line staff and in the lobby to assist customers. The UB III actively engages with customers to advise on our products and services, provides technical assistance and onboarding, assists with quality, opens new accounts, and assists in training and development of staff.

Responsibilities

Supervise and schedule daily activities of staff, delegate work, and maintain attendance records.

Oversee staff in daily cash‑handling duties and help balance accounts.

Manage branch cash operations, including vault management, inventory, compliance, and security requirements.

Open the main vault, verify and distribute cash as required, and balance the vault.

Open new accounts, determine customers’ needs, and process applicable paperwork.

Assist customers with consumer loan applications and provide advisement on consumer loan products.

Provide digital technical support, advisement, and onboarding for customers.

Balance ATM and maintain safe‑deposit records where required.

Process wire transactions for customers.

Balance branch transactions at close and complete audits of branch compliance reports.

Open and close the branch office following branch procedures.

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and resolve problems or complaints in a timely manner.

Provide backup to the Assistant Branch Manager during absences or as needed and may independently oversee the branch for short periods of time.

Perform as teller and other duties as needed.

Serve as Notary Public.

Support branch management’s sales efforts by being a positive role model, providing sales coaching, seeking sales opportunities, and preserving customer relationships.

Utilize and promote the branch team’s use of CRM (Salesforce).

Advises customers on products and services, including cash‑management services.

Make referrals to other areas of the bank such as Cash Management, Insurance & Investment Management, and Commercial Lending.

Create and foster an inclusive team environment.

Assist in training and development of new and existing staff.

Contribute to performance evaluations and promotional recommendations as necessary.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous cash‑handling and customer‑service experience in retail banking, including at least one year in a UB II position or related role.

Thorough knowledge of bank products, services, policies, and procedures.

Customer focus with the ability to build and maintain relationships.

Strong oral communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.

Ability to work independently and solve problems.

Proven supervisory skills with the ability to coach staff on performance and behavioral expectations.

Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask and adapt to a changing environment.

Extensive knowledge and experience using general office equipment and applications, including Microsoft Office, CRM, core banking system, digital banking solutions (user/administrator), cash recycler, and discriminator.

Ability to work both opening and closing hours as required by the branch schedule.

Ability to lift office supplies weighing up to approximately 25 pounds.

Salary: $38,250.00 – $59,000.00 per year
