Overview
This role provides technical expertise in support of centralized, global operations in metallurgy, specifically in copper smelting, electrorefining, and sulfuric acid production. The ideal candidate will drive excellence and efficiency across global sites through deep technical knowledge in chemistry, metallurgy, and process engineering.
Responsibilities
Develop and share technical expertise across support teams and operational sites
Provide recommendations and support for metallurgical processes
Maintain a comprehensive technical literature database
Evaluate production processes to identify cost-saving, efficiency, and quality improvements
Monitor key performance indicators and recommend improvements
Manage vendor contracts and collaborate with technology providers
Support risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP, Management of Change) and process safety initiatives
Lead educational and training sessions
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Perform additional duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field with 7+ years' relevant experience including supervisory / lead experience
Master's degree in the above fields with 5+ years' relevant experience including supervisory / lead experience
Proven ability to lead others in safety and environmental practices
Strong knowledge of technical and operational aspects of assigned unit operations
Ability to conduct production forecasts and interpret complex technical data
Experience leading multi-disciplinary projects and teams
Skilled in mentoring, managing budgets, and driving performance through collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
Specific experience in copper smelting, electrorefining, and sulfuric acid production
Additional Requirements
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when working in field, manufacturing, or plant settings
Up to 75% travel may be required (domestic and international)

Base salary range : $116,000-$162,500 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
