General Function The Licensed Optician creates exceptional value by delivering Signature Customer Experiences. The optician ensures customers are delighted by performing the key steps of our selling model, develops optical skills of others, and creates an effective learning environment.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Perform the Sales and Service Process steps in the CEE Service Model through Connect, Explore, and Exceed.
Troubleshoot and support problem solving; engage patients, customers, and associates with technology to support experiences.
Deliver the Diamond Service Principles and Service Vision; celebrate LensCrafters Advantages and lead the location that sets the tone for customer service.
Anticipate problems before they occur; explore underlying reasons for recurring customer problems and develop long‑term solutions.
Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle, Rx, and price needs; recommend improvements and solutions to problems.
Show patience and courtesy; track down answers to unfamiliar questions or products.
Co‑operate readily in group efforts; act as a leader in optical acumen and provide a voice for associates.
Educate customers on LensCrafters guarantees and services, including eyewear care tips, complimentary adjustments, follow‑up services, protection plans, and warranties.
Take and record measurements; adjust or fit eyewear carefully and correctly; ensure finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
Operate the Point of Sale terminal with accuracy and attention to detail; collect proper payment following company security procedures and retain proper change for a variety of transactions.
Proficiently use the Order Tracker to support customers getting orders RWP (ready when promised).
Pride in the appearance of the store; ensure visual displays are in accordance with company planograms.
Maintain a positive and productive relationship with the Store Manager/Macys Host to grow the business and enhance customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
State licensure or certification by a nationally-recognized opticianary association as an optician.
Optical dispensing experience.
Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise.
Knowledge of current store merchandise assortment and use of inventory management systems.
Strong communicator and listener.
Awareness of current fashion trends.
Sales skills – ability to use and carry an iPad/tablet.
Comfortable with use of technology to engage patients, customers, and associates.
Preferred Qualifications
Actively studying LensCrafters Quality, Fitting and Adjusting Program.
Previous customer service and retail experience.
Pay Range Pay Range: $25.69 – $38.27 per hour.
Benefits Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. You may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package. Benefits may include health care, retirement savings, paid time off/vacation, and various employee discounts.
