Job Title Controller – Contemporary Women’s Wear Brand
About the Company My client is a fast-growing technology company focused on transforming how businesses manage their data through cloud-based analytics solutions. They are expanding rapidly and seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our accounting operations, ensure strong financial controls, and support the company’s next phase of growth.
Position Overview The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, implementing scalable processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role will work closely with the CFO and executive leadership to build a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting a dynamic, high-growth tech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of corporate accounting, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, revenue recognition, and consolidations.
Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Develop, document, and implement scalable accounting policies and internal controls.
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Partner with FP&A to align actual results with forecasts and budgets.
Manage annual audits and coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
Support revenue recognition compliance (ASC 606) for subscription and SaaS-based revenue models.
Lead systems and process improvements, including ERP implementation or optimization (e.g., NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar).
Develop and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred).
8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a management or Controller role.
Experience within a technology or SaaS company required; public company or pre-IPO experience a plus.
Strong technical accounting background, including revenue recognition, consolidations, and equity accounting.
Proven ability to build and scale accounting infrastructure in a growing organization.
Expertise with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct).
Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
