About the Role We’re seeking
Certified Medical Coders (Inpatient)
to join the
New York City Health + Hospitals Corporation
team at
Jacobi Medical Center
in the Bronx, NY.
In this role, you will perform medical coding in an acute care setting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulatory and billing guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Perform inpatient medical coding using ICD-10, CPT-4, and Encoder systems.
Apply knowledge of federal billing, payor, and coding guidelines.
Review and interpret medical documentation to assign accurate codes.
Utilize 3M/HDS coding application and EPIC systems daily.
Research and resolve coding-related issues and discrepancies.
Support coder training and maintain documentation integrity.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum
3 years of inpatient medical coding experience .
Strong proficiency in
ICD-10, CPT-4, MS Word, Excel , and
Encoder
tools.
Experience with
EPIC
and
3M
systems (required).
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
Ability to work independently and maintain high accuracy.
Education & Certification
High School Diploma or GED
required.
Must hold
CCS certification
(AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, or CCP also accepted).
