Job Title: Hardware Design - Digital Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Hardware Design - Digital Engineer to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. The ideal candidate will have experience designing and implementing high-reliability electronic systems, including PCBs, embedded systems, and power electronics. This role will involve full lifecycle development, from requirements capture to testing and validation.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement high-reliability electronic systems, including PCBs, embedded systems, and power electronics.
  • Lead and perform all aspects of the circuit card design lifecycle, including requirements capture, schematic capture, component selection, signal integrity analysis, simulations, timing analysis, and thermal analysis.
  • Generate PCB layout constraint guidelines, routing instructions, creation of board stack-up, and oversee the routing, layout, fabrication, and assembly of complex designs.
  • Create test plans, conduct root cause analysis, and perform testing of electronic circuits and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues during development and testing phases.
  • Design circuit cards using FPGA, processor, and DDR memory components, as well as industry-standard interfaces such as Ethernet, PCIe, I2C, USB, LVDS, and SERDES bus technologies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong experience in circuit card design, PCB layout, and embedded system development.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture tools such as Siemens Mentor Graphics DxDesigner/Xpedition, Altium, Cadence Allegro, EAGLE, or KiCAD.
  • Experience with Agile hardware development methodologies, including planning, tracking, and managing projects in JIRA.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including DO-254 and DO-160.
  • Experience with Hardware Verification and Validation of high and low-level requirements complying with DO-254 standards.
  • Familiarity with requirement management tools like IBM DOORS, Jama.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently on assigned tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
