Labor & Delivery RN Qualifications
Active Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license or proof of application/fingerprints at submission (pending accepted)
Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (travel nursing experience required)
Level I Nursery and LDRP experience required
Experience circulating for C-sections and providing postpartum care
BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required
Epic charting experience required
AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate certifications preferred
Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs
Locals not accepted (must live more than 50 miles from any Legacy facility)
References: 1 Charge, Supervisor, or Manager reference required (preferably within last year)
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including triage, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care
Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections
Stabilize and care for newborns, including neonatal resuscitation and blood sugar management
Educate and support new mothers with breastfeeding and postpartum recovery
Perform newborn assessments and provide couplet care
Administer medications and monitor for complications such as pre-eclampsia, hemorrhage, and neonatal distress
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services
Document all patient care and interventions accurately in Epic
Float to other nursing units within scope as needed
Complete all required education and orientation modules within specified timeframes
