Janitor (Full Time)

Keep buildings clean and orderly by performing heavy cleaning duties, including cleaning floors, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures and infection control plans.
• Dust and damp mop floors following approved procedures.
• Move equipment and furniture for proper cleaning and return furniture to the correct placement.
• Clean assigned areas with assigned materials and equipment. Sanitize all surfaces and follow the eight‑step cleaning procedure.
• Wash walls, windows, furniture, baseboards and other items to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Identify areas requiring cleaning and take initiative to complete tasks.
• Complete all tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform tasks in accordance with all federal, state and county guidelines.
• Strip, scrub, buff and refinish floors; shampoo carpet.
• Contribute to the team and exhibit professionalism with customers, fellow employees and others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Previous custodial experience is preferred. Applicants must be willing to receive training. Online applications only.

Crawfordsville Community School – 1301 South Elm Street, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. Openings at other locations within the school district are available.

Schedule

Full‑time schedules. Days may vary: 6:00 am to 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. Details upon interview.

Compensation & Benefits

Fixed Pay Rate: $13.50 per hour.
