Position Overview: As a People Operations Leader at Dyna Robotics, you will be responsible for designing and scaling the systems that make our team thrive. This is a high‑impact, hands‑on role for someone who loves building structure in fast‑moving environments, thrives in ambiguity, and brings strong judgment around people, process, and compliance in a California‑based company. You’ll own the full employee lifecycle — from onboarding through offboarding — and develop the programs, policies, and tools that support a growing, mission‑driven team.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate and compliant employee records, including documentation, agreements, and status changes.

Design and manage seamless onboarding and offboarding experiences that reflect Dyna’s culture and set employees up for success.

Oversee benefits, payroll coordination, and HR systems to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations.

Build the People Infrastructure

Develop and maintain Dyna’s employee handbook and company‑wide policies (PTO, holidays, travel, expenses, parental leave, hybrid work, etc.).

Implement and optimize HR systems (HRIS, payroll, benefits) with a focus on automation, efficiency, and data accuracy.

Set up lightweight, scalable processes for performance reviews, engagement surveys, and feedback loops.

Ensure Compliance & Risk Awareness

Serve as a trusted advisor on people‑related compliance, with a strong grasp of employment practices and labor standards in California and beyond.

Establish clear frameworks for employee vs. contractor classification, compensation, and documentation.

Partner with finance and legal to align policies with company growth and regulatory requirements.

Build Culture & Performance Programs

Partner with leadership to implement fair, transparent performance management and compensation processes.

Support managers and teams with guidance on feedback, growth, and employee relations.

Drive initiatives that strengthen Dyna’s culture, engagement, and retention.

Collaborate Cross‑Functionally

Collaborate with team leads to translate company goals into actionable people programs.

Partner with Legal and external advisors to ensure compliant and scalable people practices.

Work closely with Finance on headcount planning, payroll, and total rewards alignment.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in People Operations or HR, ideally within a fast‑growing tech or hardware startup.

Deep understanding of employment best practices, compliance frameworks, and labor standards, particularly within California‑based organizations.

Demonstrated ability to design and operationalize onboarding, offboarding, and performance systems.

Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable operating across strategy and execution.

A “builder” mindset — you streamline chaos into clarity and create processes that scale.

Bonus: Familiarity with tools like Rippling, Sequoia, Gusto, Deel, Lattice, or BambooHR.
