Senior Project Manager I - Energy Storage

at Mortenson. The role requires leadership of one large project or multiple projects within the Energy Storage Group, with the ability to interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. The candidate should be proactive, resourceful, professional, and able to anticipate problems and opportunities, solve problems creatively, and maintain high confidentiality and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential. The senior project manager will provide overall leadership for project quality, timeliness, safety, and mentoring the project team, and will develop and enhance customer relationships through excellent service. Responsibilities

Organize and manage duties with exceptional customer focus and communication; include overall financial health of projects. Support and potentially lead EPC contract negotiations with customers, including assembling technical exhibits, scope of work, and project schedules aligned with contract requirements. Lead vendor procurement and bid/award activities for major subs and suppliers, including RFP creation, vendor solicitation, technical scoping, risk analysis, budget alignment, and contract negotiations. Develop and maintain project financial projections and equipment projections; determine and allocate project estimates into the financial system; determine cost codes and approve invoices; manage budget decisions. Provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment; create monthly owner billings. Manage subcontracts and suppliers; oversee budget for trade partners and suppliers; handle billings and contract management including contract buyouts. Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s); assign tasks and support career development; approve timecards and provide ongoing feedback. Serve as the main point of contact with the owner and on-site representative; assist with reviews of owner agreements; resolve site concerns; maintain frequent interactions to build positive relationships and future opportunities. Manage change orders; determine timing of submissions to the owner or on-site representatives and obtain customer/architect approval. Lead full lifecycle execution of energy storage projects, including site development, civil work, electrical installation, and commissioning; champion safety and drive performance, risk management, and stakeholder relationships. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience. A minimum of eight years of construction management or related experience. Proven ability to manage complex projects; detail-oriented with the ability to organize multiple tasks; basic understanding of construction law and accepted business practices. Preference for experience in commercial construction, renewable energy project development, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies. Microsoft Office, project and related web applications at an intermediate level; strong customer service skills. Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies; current driver’s license. Benefits and Compensation

The base compensation range for this role is $140,800 - $211,200; actual range varies by office location (Denver, CO; Chicago, IL; Seattle, WA; Portland, OR; Washington, D.C.). Base pay is determined by knowledge, skill, experience, and internal equity. Other notes
