Opportunity Cyber threats are everywhere and evolve constantly, making it difficult for government agencies to understand and mitigate risks. As an Information Security Risk Specialist, you will help those organizations assess their cyber risks, understand applicable policies, and develop actionable mitigation plans. You will work with Air Force and Space Force stakeholders to gather technical and personnel information, guide clients through presentations and white papers, and translate security concepts to support critical infrastructure and mission‑critical systems.
Responsibilities • Discover and assess cyber risks for Air Force or Space Force organizations. • Gather technical and personnel details from SMEs, engineers, and operators. • Assist in developing mitigation plans and supporting continuous improvement. • Prepare presentations, white papers, and milestones to guide client decision‑making.
Qualifications
Experience supporting cybersecurity, engineering, or operations (information assurance, network engineering, or systems administration).
Experience evaluating a system’s compliance with RMF and DoD cybersecurity policies.
Experience with DoD A&A processes and cybersecurity engineering.
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and industry best practices.
Secret clearance.
HS diploma or GED.
Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Cloud+, CySA+, CASP+, SANS GSEC, ISC2 CGRC) before start date.
Nice If You Have
Experience with eMASS.
Experience with enterprise networks, AD, Linux, or Windows.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time management and analytical skills.
Clearance Applicants selected will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is required.
Compensation The projected annualized salary range is $52,900.00 to $108,000.00 (USD). The range is only one component of the total compensation package, which includes health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.
