Job Description Inova Alexandria Hospital is looking for a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join the Cardiac Surgical Telemetry team. This role will be full-time day shift Monday – Friday (including some weekend shifts) 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sign‑on & Relocation Bonuses are available for eligible nurses.

The Cardiac Surgical Telemetry Unit is a 29‑bed acute care unit that provides 24‑hour telemetry monitoring to all beds. Patients include those with cardiac disorders and other complex diagnoses requiring monitoring, such as CHF, chest pain, stable cardiac arrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, uterine procedures, ureteral surgeries, major small/large bowel obstructions, post‑craniotomy patients and spinal surgery transfers from ICU. Nurses are trained to manage patients on high‑flow oxygen and BIPAP and the unit is COVID‑designated.

Job Responsibilities
Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care.
Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation.
Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances and makes revisions to plans of care.
Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate’s degree (ADN), must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
Experience: Requires a minimum of 1-year Registered Nurse clinical experience in the acute care setting.
Certification: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or holds a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required upon start.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in Cardiac Telemetry, Medical and Surgical strongly preferred.
