Inova Mount Vernon Hospital Acute Care Telemetry/Neuro Unit is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse Fellow (RN). This role will be full-time, with 3-12 hour night shifts (days vary) from 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., including weekend and holiday rotations. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available for eligible nurses.

Job Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships.
Formulate individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
Conduct all patient care in a patient- and family-centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet patients’ and families’ needs throughout the continuum of care.
Advocate for patients’ rights from the patient and family perspective and provide counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues.
Access resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinate healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning.
Document all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assist healthcare team members with documentation.
Evaluate the process to achieve outcomes, anticipate patient variances and revise plans of care.
Make clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from the date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: identify the accredited school they plan to attend, provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date, submit a review of transcripts indicating the required prerequisites and timeline for taking the courses, and complete the BSN within 5 years of the start date.
Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Critical Care unit, or completion of a critical‑care fellowship.
