Northrop Grumman is looking for a Principal Engineer Guidance Navigation Control to design, develop, implement, verify, and test high‑quality software and simulation toolchains for missile flight systems.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement guidance, navigation, and control algorithms and software for aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, and launch vehicles.
Develop and verify 6‑degree‑of‑freedom simulation models to evaluate system performance and test missile flight code.
Perform statistical processing of measured data points and substitute them into real‑world simulation algorithms.
Formulate equations to achieve desired positions, orientations, or orbits in space.
Develop control laws and define hardware and software requirements for launch and spacecraft.
Basic Qualifications
5 years of experience with a bachelor's in science; or 3 years with a master’s; or 1 year with a PhD.
U.S. citizen.
Experience with missile guidance and control algorithms.
Experience with missile simulation and flight dynamics.
Ability to obtain a secret‑level security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IR discrimination and tracking.
Experience designing, tuning, implementing, and testing guidance algorithms and autopilot parameters for guided missiles and/or interceptors.
Flight dynamics and control systems theory proficiency.
Proficiency in C++, MATLAB, and Python, and developing analysis tools in a Linux environment.
Active secret clearance at time of application.
Compensation and Benefits
Primary level salary range: \$95,300.00 – \$142,900.00.
Eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives for VP/Director roles. Northrop Grumman offers health insurance, life and disability coverage, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
