General purpose The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store as well as the general operations and supervision of the Store when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors open and close the Store, supervise Associates, and maintain a friendly, easy‑to‑shop environment. They ensure proper merchandise presentation, keep a clean work area, and execute and supervise Company operational processes as needed. Essential functions Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
Understand that safety is number one and practice safe behaviors in everything they do Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment and immediately correct or report unsafe conditions or practices Secure the building (entrance/exit control, EAS devices, cash office security, armored carrier pick‑ups, register area) Remove clutter and ensure safe, clear egress to emergency exits Ensure customer safety (accident prevention, reporting, emergency procedures) Test all fire alarm systems as scheduled and respond to after‑hours alarms when requested Customer Service
Treat all Customers, Associates, and other leaders with respect Demonstrate courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism at all times and recognize Associates using Company recognition programs Personal and Store Brand
Represent and support the Company brand at all times Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with the Company Dress Code and ensure all Associates do the same Keep all areas of the Store clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard Perform daily trash removal General Merchandising
Ensure recovery, sizing, and markdowns are completed to Company standards through teaching, assigning tasks, and following up Receive merchandise trucks when needed and process all merchandise with a sense of urgency Maintain cleanliness and organization of all Stockrooms and ensure back‑stock is secured and processed to policy Handle floor moves, signing, promotional signing, and re‑wraps as needed Loss Prevention
Maintain a strong Loss Prevention presence on the sales floor and engage with Customers and Associates Safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise Maintain the Public View Monitor system and conduct “Code 50” package inspections Execute all Company Best Practices and maximize productivity while minimizing steps and touches Front End Supervision and Operations
Ensure Associates at the Front End execute to Company standards Manage line pace and “presence” to expedite Customer wait time Train and coach Associates on cash registers, shortage control policies, and other Front End procedures Control break schedules, ensure equipment works properly, and maintain supplies and recovery for the Front End area Fitting Rooms
Maintain the maintenance and cleanliness of the Fitting Rooms Audit and account for all garment tags to Company policy and ensure go‑back compliance throughout the day Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager
Ensure Cash pulls and bank deposits are conducted to Company policy Understand and adhere to the policies and procedures that refer to refund approval, Associate purchase approval, securing tills and cash in safe, register paid outs/ins, void approval, register media, and break schedules Perform payroll administration including daily punch edits, Associate scheduling compliance, Sunday payroll transmission, and Payroll reporting as needed Competencies
Manages Work Processes Business Acumen Plans, Aligns & Prioritizes Builds Talent Collaborates Leading by Example Communicates Effectively Ensures Accountability & Execution Qualifications and Special Skills
Excellent verbal communication skills Fluency in English Prior Customer Service and supervisory experience preferred Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments Ability to work evenings and weekends Physical Requirements / ADA
Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required. Ability to spend up to 100 % of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store. Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop. Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
