About Triton Aquatics
Triton Aquatics is a growing, year‑round USA Swimming team serving the Tri‑Valley and Tri‑County regions in the East Bay. Our mission is to foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive swim environment, helping swimmers of all levels achieve their goals in and out of the pool. We offer a robust pathway from learn‑to‑swim through national‑level competition.
Position Summary We’re seeking energetic, patient, and mission‑driven
Swim School Instructors
to teach learn‑to‑swim and stroke‑development lessons for children and beginners. You’ll deliver safe, engaging, and progression‑based instruction that builds water confidence, strong fundamentals, and a love of swimming. This is a part‑time, on‑deck role with afternoon/evening and weekend availability preferred. Opportunities to grow into expanded coaching roles exist as the program continues to develop.
Key Responsibilities
Teach private, semi‑private, and small‑group lessons using Triton’s curriculum and progressions.
Emphasize water safety, body position, breathing, and foundational stroke mechanics.
Assess swimmers, track progress, and communicate clear goals and milestones to families.
Create a welcoming, inclusive environment aligned with our
Safe Sport
culture.
Set up/tear down equipment and help maintain a clean, safe pool deck.
Support occasional clinics, evaluations, and seasonal events.
Qualifications
Prior swim instruction and/or competitive swimming experience (youth lesson experience a plus).
Strong communication skills; calm, positive presence with children and beginners.
Reliable, punctual, organized, and team‑oriented.
CPR/First Aid (or ability to obtain promptly);
Lifeguard certification preferred.
Familiarity with modern learn‑to‑swim techniques and age‑appropriate progressions.
USA Swimming Safe Sport awareness or willingness to complete training.
Schedule & Location
Part‑time; typical teaching blocks on weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends.
Lessons are offered in Fremont CA in the East Bay.
Compensation
Per-lesson pay , with earnings equivalent to
$25–$40 per hour , based on qualifications, lesson type (private/semi‑private/group), and experience.
