Responsibilities
We’re seeking a skilled and experienced paralegal to support our growing legal team. The ideal candidate for this position will use their work experience and organizational skills to prepare and maintain legal documents, file motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research. Assist lawyers in preparing legal documentation, pleadings, and correspondence including interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, complaints, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits
Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions
Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
Arrange law office activity such as drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems
Manage real estate and probate files from intake to closing, ensuring all deadlines are met
Draft and review legal documents, including wills, trusts, deeds, contracts, and probate pleadings
Conduct legal research on real estate and probate laws and procedures, ensuring compliance with Florida law
Coordinate real estate transactions, including managing due diligence, reviewing titles and surveys, and preparing closing documents
Assist in trust and estate administration, including gathering and organizing asset and liability information
Handle e‑filing and document recording processes with Florida courts
Qualifications
3+ years of legal service experience under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Completed an ABA‑approved paralegal certificate program such as an associate’s degree or proprietary program, bachelor’s degree preferred
Talented communicator and writer
Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in Florida real estate and probate law
Paralegal certification and/or a bachelor’s degree are preferred
Strong knowledge of Florida probate law and procedure
Must submit to a background check
