Why Your Role Matters The Lecturer in Interpreting/Translation will demonstrate experience teaching at tertiary level, active research, HDR supervision and NAATI proficiency.
Responsibilities
Conduct on‑campus and online teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Design learning activities, deliver assessment and provide feedback.
Carry out independent and team research, and design research projects.
Supervise HDR students and mentor staff.
Maintain professional development, pedagogy, disciplinary knowledge and NAATI certification.
Contribute to faculty meetings, seminars and committees.
Skills and Experience
PhD in Interpreting or Translation Studies.
NAATI certification in interpreting/translation and proficiency in at least one of Mandarin, Indonesian, Russian or Spanish.
Track record of high‑impact research and research leadership.
Involvement with the profession (e.g., AUSIT).
Teaching and learning design experience at tertiary level.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and passion for educational excellence.
Experience supervising research students to completion.
Use of educational technologies and online delivery.
Commitment to student equity, diversity and inclusion.
Strong communication and networking skills.
