Maintenance Electrical / Instrument Technician
Maintenance Electrical and Instrument Technician at LignoTech Florida, you will be responsible for (among other things):
Maintaining proper safety awareness and following plant safety procedures in all plant activities
Installing, testing, calibrating, troubleshooting, overhauling and repairing a wide variety of instrumentation and electrical devices and equipment
Performing preventive and predictive maintenance inspections using diagnostic tools and test equipment and making necessary corrections to keep equipment from failing
Reading and understanding manuals, blueprints, schematics, and testing specifications; possessing good computer skills and thorough knowledge of PIDs, loop drawings, electrical schematics, and PLCs
Troubleshooting and loop‑checking PLCs, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using proper test equipment to repair or replace faulty components, such as sensors, relays, switches, motors, modules, or fixtures
Assembling and disassembling all types of electronic process controls, pneumatic controls, and hydraulic systems and components
Layout, fabricating, and installing instrument, electrical and PLC components and cabinets
Inspecting and maintaining switchgear, PLCs, transformers, buss bars, circuit breakers, and wiring connections in power distribution sub‑stations
Testing continuity of circuits to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and meggers
Requirements
High school diploma or GED
Two‑year electrical & instrumentation vocational certification
Four or more years of experience working in an industrial maintenance environment
Ability to support a 24/7 plant operations schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Pass and maintain all medical and fit‑testing requirements for respiratory equipment
Possession of a complete set of mechanical tools and basic knowledge of precision maintenance tools
Ability to work independently in the absence of supervision
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Basic mechanical, electrical, and controls troubleshooting skills
Perform other duties as assigned or required by supervision
Other Job Requirements
Work four 10‑hour workdays per week (6 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), with rotation to four days of afternoon shift (12 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.) once every six weeks
Weekend on‑call rotation every six weeks (paid daily "On Call" and OT rate apply)
Required to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical assessment
