Position Overview
Pay range:
$30.70 - $49.90 per hour

Job Description Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment and perform ultrasound procedures on various anatomical structures, including internal organs, vessels, fluid accumulations, masses, and developing fetuses. Report preliminary findings, measurements, and diagnoses to appropriate personnel (radiologist or cardiologist). Record scanned ultrasound images and transfer them to the imaging system for interpretation after checking for quality.
Qualifications High School diploma or GED required.
Current credentials: must be registered as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR registered as a Registered Technologist with Sonography Designation (R.T.(S)(ARRT)) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR registered as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) in areas of specialization. New graduates must obtain applicable registration within one year.
For the radiology department: ARDMS RDMS or student/new graduate eligible to sit for exam with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers within 12 months; ARDMS abdomen or OB/GYN registry required within 12 months; ARRT R.T. with registry in Vascular Sonography requiring advanced certification within 12 months; vascular certifications (RVT, VS, RVS) required within 24 months.
