Field Service Technician - Heavy Equipment - HOLT CAT Holt CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealership of heavy equipment in the United States. This is a full-time Field Service Technician position at our San Antonio, Texas location. This role involves face-to-face customer service at an off-site location and responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing diesel-powered heavy equipment and related components, following established procedures and guidelines. Responsibilities

Performs minor repairs and troubleshooting offsite with minimal supervision Performs minor troubleshooting and diagnoses of equipment malfunctions Removes and installs parts, disassembles and assembles basic components Tests, makes adjustments, and verifies proper operation of repairs Prepares and completes job-related documents, writes service reports, orders parts, and maintains customer records; accesses required databases Operates equipment and vehicles with necessary licenses and certificates Maintains service vehicle inspection records, daily inspections, and driver logs as required by the Department of Transportation Adheres to contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations Maintains company equipment, tools, and vehicles in good, clean, working order Communicates job progress to supervisor and customer as needed Completes assigned jobs to meet flat rate time and re-work standards Works overtime as required by workload and customer needs Completes all assigned Technician Training Path courses and safety training in a timely manner Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers; may mentor lower-level Technicians Requires regular and punctual attendance Performs other duties as assigned Education, Experience, and Certifications

At least two years of diesel-powered heavy equipment repair experience in a field environment preferred MSHA certification preferred Air conditioning certification preferred Crane/Rigger certifications preferred High school diploma or equivalent preferred Graduation from a diesel technology program preferred Additional Requirements

Valid Driver’s license required Ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and maintain an acceptable driving record Must have all required mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric/standard) Travel required with possibility of overnight stays Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of safe work procedures and practices Basic knowledge of equipment and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance Basic knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, engines, undercarriage, and electrical Proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and basic knowledge of machine electronic systems Exceptional customer service skills Basic diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Planning and organizing skills to prioritize and plan work activities Operation and control skills of equipment or systems Equipment selection skills to determine tools and equipment needed Clear verbal and written communication abilities Ability to operate a crane and forklift and obtain required certifications/licenses Ability to meet deadlines and work under fast-paced conditions Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair Ability to make precise coordinated movements to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects Physical Requirements

Must be able to move objects and use core muscles to provide support over time Frequently moves materials or equipment up to 80 pounds Constant movement and use of limbs; good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina Ascends/descends and maneuvers around ladders and equipment Ability to work safely underneath equipment Visually inspect work and respond to signals and alarms Disclaimer:
