MasterMold, LLC is excited to announce the opening of a brand-new position, Mechanical Design Engineer. In this role, the right candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical components, systems, and products. They will work closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet technical, functional, and aesthetic requirements while maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Develop design concepts for mechanical components and systems based on project specifications, client requirements, and technical feasibility.
Create detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
Perform engineering calculations and simulations (e.g., FEA, CFD) to validate design performance under various conditions.
Oversee the development and testing of prototypes to ensure design integrity and functionality.
Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design reports, specifications, and drawings.
Work closely with other engineers, production teams, and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of designs into manufacturing processes.
Ensure all designs meet applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Stay updated with advancements in mechanical design technology and materials and implement innovative solutions to enhance product performance and reduce costs.>
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
3-4 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in SMC manufacturing.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Creo).
Knowledge of welding and welding processes.
Strong knowledge of materials science, manufacturing processes, and mechanical principles.
Familiarity with design standards and codes (e.g., ASME, ISO).
Experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB).
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
