Patient Access Workleader - Emergency Department Join Cleveland Clinic’s Martin North Hospital – a downtown Stuart facility providing top‑quality patient care to communities in Martin County.

This position is a leadership role supporting the North Emergency Department Registration team. You will coordinate daily operations, delegate tasks, provide education, and cover key functions for the team.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the department work lead.

Recommend and execute complex policies with the supervisor to ensure timely and accurate patient registration.

Provide oversight and direction for caregivers to support daily operations.

Rotate to different locations/hospitals based on staffing needs.

Use reports to contact insurance payers for resolution of registration accounts and minimize internal escalation.

Contribute to Patient Access programs align with insurance regulation changes.

Assist site manager and supervisor with daily operational activities.

Staff all patient access areas, including front desk, admitting office, ER registration, and cashier.

Identify and resolve registration issues or initiate follow‑up.

Train caregivers and conduct performance evaluations.

Complete operational tasks: staff schedules, working reports, compliance and denial audits, call‑off handling, work allocation, and time‑attendance entry.

Coordinate resources for coverage of PTO and key activities.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED with four years of customer‑facing experience or an Associate’s Degree with three years, or a Bachelor’s Degree with two years (or relevant work‑leader experience). Demonstrated personnel management competence required.

Basic PC software knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems.

Knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders; or completion of a related course within one year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in healthcare or an Emergency Department setting.

Physical & Personal Protective Equipment Requirements

Sufficient mobility and strength to move around the department and facility.

Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and endure walking and standing while obtaining patient information with a laptop on a wheeled device.

Follow Standard Precautions using PPE as required.

Compensation Salary will be discussed during the application and hiring process. Current market averages are available on independent job search sites.

This role is full‑time, $X–$Y, on a Tuesday‑Saturday shift from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM; floating to Martin South Hospital may be required as needed.
