Job Description UTHealth Houston – UT Physicians Sienna Multispecialty Clinic is hiring a Staff Nurse (RN) to join the team of professionals in southwest Houston. Multispecialty experience preferred. The role is part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive care to patients and families with complex healthcare needs.

Schedule Monday – Friday, Saturday as needed

Position Key Accountabilities

Performs responsibilities that promote quality patient care and customer service/satisfaction.

Adheres to broad scope of practice as established by Nurse Practice Act.

Ensures efficient operation of clinic or unit by proper scheduling, planning, maintenance of stock and supplies, and safe use of equipment.

Uses systematic approach to provide nursing care to patients and families/populations by performing focused and comprehensive assessments.

Prioritizes, synthesizes and documents assessments and nursing plan of care using critical thinking and judgment.

Implements plan of care within scope of practice, assigning and monitoring other nurses, delegating unlicensed staff, initiating standing orders for prescription refills and labs.

Develops and implements teaching plans for patients concerning health maintenance, promotion and restoration.

Evaluates patient response and outcomes to education and therapeutic interventions; communicates effectively with collaborative team.

Coordinates care and refers patients to agencies or health care professionals for additional services or transitions.

Performs on‑site and telephone triage using best practice guidelines and documentation.

May be responsible for compiling daily or monthly reports.

Acts as a patient and healthcare advocate by maintaining a safe environment and promoting quality healthcare and services.

Regards and maintains privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.

Adheres to standards of practice for professional nursing.

Other duties as assigned.

Certification & Skills

Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) by Texas Board of Nursing (BON) required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Minimum Education Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Associate’s degree in nursing, or diploma from an accredited nursing school.

Minimum Experience None.

Physical Requirements Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive Position is security‑sensitive pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215, Texas Government Code 411.094, and Texas Business and Commerce Code 117.001(2). Routine reviews for security and integrity of critical infrastructure will be conducted.
