Position Summary The Maintenance Controller (MOC) provides direct, real-time oversight and technical coordination of all maintenance activity across Contour’s operating fleet. This position ensures the continued airworthiness and dispatch reliability of the ERJ, CRJ, and Citation fleets through proactive communication, troubleshooting, and coordination between flight operations, line maintenance, engineering, and vendor partners. The Maintenance Controller is the central point of contact for all aircraft maintenance events, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies, adherence to FAA regulations, and compliance with Contour’s GMM/GOM policies under 14 CFR Part 135 and Part 145 operational control. Key Responsibilities Fleet Oversight & Coordination Monitor daily fleet status for the ERJ-135/140/145, CRJ-200, and Citation 560XLS aircraft. Manage aircraft discrepancies, MEL/CDL items, deferred maintenance, and scheduled checks in real time using Quantum and AireXpert systems. Provide technical direction and troubleshooting guidance to company and contract maintenance personnel during AOG or irregular operations. Evaluate, coordinate, and authorize corrective actions to ensure compliance with approved data (AMM, SRM, IPC, WDM, MEL, and maintenance manuals). Technical Troubleshooting & Decision-Making Use aircraft system knowledge and technical documentation to resolve in-service discrepancies efficiently. Provide remote troubleshooting support to outstations and flight crews for maintenance irregularities. Coordinate parts support, tooling, and vendor services to expedite return-to-service events. Compliance & Documentation Ensure all maintenance activities are properly recorded and conform to FAA regulations, Contour’s GMM, and OEM maintenance instructions. Verify that all maintenance releases, MDRs, and logbook entries are accurately completed before returning an aircraft to service. Maintain oversight of time-controlled items, airworthiness directives, and repetitive maintenance tasks. Communication & Coordination Maintain continuous communication with Flight Operations, Dispatch, and Maintenance vendors to ensure operational reliability. Notify leadership and key departments of AOG events, MEL deferrals, or operational impacts. Issue and manage Event Tags within AireXpert to document aircraft status, parts delays, and maintenance progress. Planning & Scheduling Support Coordinate with the Planning department to align scheduled maintenance (2-Day, Routine, Service Checks, etc.) with flight schedules. Ensure maintenance events are scheduled and executed within regulatory and operational limits. Participate in shift turnover briefings to ensure continuity of fleet awareness across all shifts. Qualifications Required: Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a Maintenance Control or Line Maintenance leadership role. Technical proficiency with ERJ-135/140/145, CRJ-200, and Citation 560XLS systems and associated manuals. Strong understanding of 14 CFR Parts 65, 91, 121, and 135. Ability to make airworthiness and operational decisions under pressure while maintaining compliance and safety. Excellent communication and coordination skills across multiple departments. Preferred: Previous experience in 24/7 airline Maintenance Control Center environment. Familiarity with Quantum, AireXpert, Traxx, and related MRO software systems. Experience interfacing with OEMs such as Embraer, Bombardier, Cessna, and Honeywell/GE/Pratt & Whitney. Familiarity with MEL management and deferral tracking. 24/7 rotational shifts (days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required). High-energy operational environment requiring multi-tasking and critical decision-making. Office setting within Contour’s MOC facility at Smyrna HQ, with coordination across nationwide outstations and vendors.
