Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full‑Time Early Career Programmable Logic Designer in Orlando, FL. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will research, develop, design, and test complex programmable logic designs for military equipment, utilizing Field‑Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and other digital technologies to create innovative and effective solutions.

Basic Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.

Strong foundation in digital logic, computer architecture, and programming principles, demonstrated through strong academic performance in related courses.

Proficiency in HDL design languages such as VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog, demonstrated through successful academic projects or internship experiences.

Experience with FPGA design tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Altera/Intel Quartus, Vitis, Microsemi Libero, Lattice, etc., demonstrated through academic projects or internship experiences.

Demonstrated successful group collaboration and/or project work, ideally in a programmable logic environment.

Desired Skills

Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience with high‑level synthesis tools such as Catapult or Stratus and their application to FPGA design.

Familiarity with embedded systems, including microprocessors, peripherals, and interfaces, high‑speed transceivers, etc., gained through academic coursework or internship experiences.

Knowledge of digital signal processing principles and their application to FPGA design, demonstrated through academic coursework or internship experiences.

Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Tcl and their application to FPGA design automation, demonstrated through academic projects or internship experiences.

Familiarity with industry‑standard FPGA development boards and platforms such as Xilinx Zynq or Intel Cyclone, gained through academic coursework or internship experiences.

Strong understanding of computer architecture, including pipelining, caching, and parallel processing, gained through academic coursework or internship experiences.

Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part‑time Remote Telework. The employee selected for this position will work part of their schedule remotely and part at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from a standard 40‑hour, five‑day work week to condensed schedules that provide employees with additional time away from the office, in addition to Paid Time Off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4×10‑hour day, 3 days off per week.
