Travel Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU Job Details: • Work 4x12 hour shifts on block scheduling Thursday through Sunday • Charge nurse responsibilities Friday through Sunday with $3 per hour pay increase • Patient ratios: PCU budgeted at 3:1 with maximum 4:1, charge nurses take 2:1 when staffing requires • Guaranteed hours: 48 hours per workweek for 4x12 hour shifts • Christmas guaranteed off • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays • Recent charge experience required • 18 months of nursing experience required • Weekend coverage required • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale preferred • Indiana state license must be in hand prior to start date • Scrub color: red top, black bottoms • Charting system: Cerner • Free parking provided • Care for adults and geriatric patients on 27-bed unit • Skills required: telemetry, IV start, cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP and high flow oxygen • Handle cardiac and medical PCU patients including heart caths, BiPAP, cardiac drips • Work with medications including Levo, Dopa, Nitro, Cardizem, and Amiodarone • Level I, II, III, or IV experience required • Conscious sedation and ventilator experience preferred
Facility: This short-term acute care hospital features 194 staffed beds and operates a cardiac and medical progressive care unit that serves as a true ICU stepdown. The facility provides comprehensive cardiac services and specializes in high-acuity patient care with advanced monitoring capabilities. The PCU handles complex cases including post-cardiac catheterization patients and those requiring cardiac and vasoactive drip management, maintaining high standards for critical care in a progressive care setting. Location: Lafayette, IN Lafayette offers a vibrant college town atmosphere with Purdue University nearby, providing cultural events, dining, and entertainment options.
