Automotive Software Integration Engineer (TCU / CAN / Releases) Our client in Dearborn, MI is looking for a Software Engineer Controls for a contract position.

Job Summary As a Software Engineer Controls you will manage supplier relations, plan and oversee hardware and software releases, implement change control, and lead integration and testing activities within the automotive telematics domain.

Responsibilities

Draft eSOWs and manage supplier performance for AM Co.

Plan and execute vehicle‑specific software releases, including change control and issue management.

Decompose and cascade requirements, author GPDS deliverables such as DFMEA, SCCAFs, VSCS, NID, and DVP&R.

Perform design verification and failure mode analysis, and prepare vehicle‑specific design verification plans.

Define vehicle‑specific configuration specifications for the Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and CAN message databases.

Conduct integration testing with CGEA1.3C architecture and interface design reviews.

Support engineering, launch activities, and external suppliers throughout the release lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

3+ years of experience in a similar role, managing external suppliers and technical SOWs.

Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Experience planning and managing hardware and software releases with change control.

Experience with technical requirement management for external suppliers.

100% onsite position.

Preferred Qualifications

Hardware design experience.

Experience with automotive product development (GPDS) and electrical architecture.

Experience testing hardware and software in a bench or vehicle environment.
