Project Constructability: Oversee planning and design phases of data center projects to ensure feasibility and alignment with quality, budget, and schedule.
Budget Oversight: Develop and manage preconstruction budgets, ensuring cost‑effective use of resources and adherence to financial constraints. Coordinate with finance and procurement teams throughout the budget process.
Innovation & Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating innovative solutions to enhance data center performance and sustainability.
Continuous Improvement: Track lessons learned in budgets and preconstruction processes to drive continuous improvement and best‑practice implementation.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the project team, fostering a collaborative, high‑performance work environment.
Vendor Management: Work with the project team to select, negotiate, and manage contracts with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers, ensuring project success and cost‑efficiency.
Compliance & Standards: Ensure all preconstruction activities comply with relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies.
Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control processes during the preconstruction phase to ensure the highest standards of planning and design.
Skills Required
Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of data center budgeting, cost‑effectiveness, standard pricing, and budget‑schedule interdependencies.
Data Center Industry Relationships: Existing positive industry relationships, ability to build new ones to support preconstruction efforts.
Budget Process: Organize, evaluate, explain, and track baseline budgets from conception to closeout.
Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and implement long‑term strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Understanding of Project Management: Expertise in overseeing planning, design, and budgeting phases of complex construction projects.
Leadership: Strong leadership to mentor and guide a preconstruction team.

Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage vendor relationships.
