Job Description Teledyne Gas & Flame Detection has brought together industry‑leading products to provide our customers with fixed‑point and portable gas detectors and controllers with proven reputations for quality and reliability. Every second of every day, our hazardous gas detection monitors are making workplaces like these safer around the world. We are seeking a Territory Sales Manager located in the Midwest and Northeast US.
Detailed Description Position based in the USA. Responsible for profitable promotion and growth of the fixed gas detection portfolio in the Midwest & Northeast region. The successful candidate will work closely with the Americas Teledyne Gas & Flame Fixed Gas Detection sales team, the Oldham Simtronics engineering team, Detcon, and others. The role involves managing fixed gas detection business, partners, and end users: supporting, consulting, preparing quotes and building relationships with partners, engineering companies, EPCs, and end users.
Must demonstrate strong sales and distributor management skills, ability to work independently, and focus on Teledyne Gas & Flame’s values, strategies, and objectives. Reports directly to the Sales Director for Americas.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the fixed gas & flame detection product portfolio via required sales and technical training, and promote the products to new and existing customers.
Achieve agreed sales targets for the region by identifying opportunities in new and existing markets.
Build strong business relationships with distributors, manage and assess their performance, and identify new distribution partners.
Identify key end‑user accounts and implement sales plans to support direct and distributor selling structures.
Meet regularly with existing customers, distributors, and prospects to understand evolving business needs.
Prepare customer‑specific business plans.
Attend sales meetings, exhibitions, conferences, and professional association meetings as part of the Americas Sales team.
Conduct sales presentations, customer training, and seminars.
Use CRM, ERP, and other IT tools to provide customer information, forecasts, and reports.
Collaborate with internal departments: Marketing, Inside Sales & Customer Service, Field Service, Product Management, and Application Engineering.
Monitor and report on market and competitor activities, providing relevant reports on a weekly basis.
Desired Skills, Education & Qualifications
Detailed knowledge of the fixed gas & flame detection market in the Americas.
Knowledge of gas detection & system technical and sales aspects.
Ability to provide first‑level service support to customers.
Professional field sales record (5+ years) with proven track record.
Ability to train and teach internal and external customers.
Effective communication at all levels, externally and internally.
Ability to create and maintain effective customer networks.
Business development and lead qualification effectiveness.
Degree qualification in sales, engineering, business or related subject.
Objective‑driven, desire to win, dynamic, enthusiastic, problem‑solver.
Effective team player able to build and maintain positive relationships.
Salary Range $87,500.00 – $116,600.00
Pay Transparency The anticipated salary range listed for this role is an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is determined based on factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
