ICON Consultants, LP
The Buyer II role will support procurement operations for spaceflight systems by managing suppliers, executing sourcing strategies, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of materials that meet technical and regulatory standards. This role is responsible for end-to-end procurement activities, from requisition creation through final invoice payment, and will collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and supply chain leadership to drive execution and supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and direct suppliers and internal teams to support external development of spaceflight systems.
Ensure program requirements are prioritized and executed to meet company and mission goals.
Prepare and issue Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Requests for Quote (RFQs); conduct price analyses and develop negotiation strategies.
Construct and manage major procurement contracts, including long‑range procurement agreements and sourcing partnerships.
Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, resolving issues from requisition creation through payment.
Lead identification, negotiation, and management of strategic Long‑Term Agreements (LTAs).
Support the overall procurement organization’s strategy to achieve corporate objectives.
Ensure production materials are delivered on time, within budget, and meet performance and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field with 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management, or Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
Knowledge and hands‑on experience in procurement and supplier management.
Understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
Experience negotiating and managing multiple contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF, CPIF).
Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, and manage competing priorities.
Strong analytical and data‑driven approach; experience tracking and reporting key metrics.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of stakeholders.
Working knowledge of AS9100 standards.
Familiarity with engineering data such as specifications and source control drawings.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the Space or Aerospace industry.
Knowledge of Avionics or Fluids components.
Familiarity with ITAR/EAR export regulations.
Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or PMP.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Jira, and SharePoint.
