Responsibilities
Provide bedside care to all patients receiving mechanical circulatory support, using age‑appropriate devices.
Lead the ECMO team, acting as a clinical resource for all extracorporeal devices.
Oversee all aspects of the ECMO system, including priming, initiation, and discontinuation.
Take call and manage ECMO hospital patient transfers within the facility and between sites.
Support bedside and physician teams, participate in daily patient rounds, and troubleshoot clinical concerns.
Collaborate with departmental leadership to create and maintain staff education.
Support simulation events related to ECMO and participate in extracorporeal therapy education.
Qualifications Required
Three years as an RN, RRT, or Perfusionist with ECMO, if holding a Bachelor degree.
Five years as an RN, RRT, or Perfusionist with ECMO, if holding an Associate degree.
Seven years as an RN, RRT, or Perfusionist with ECMO, if holding no degree.
One of: Registered Nurse (RN) or Respiratory Therapist (RT).
Desired
Three years experience with circulatory support devices.
Registered Nurse or Respiratory Therapist licensed in Kentucky.
