Responsibilities
**This is a WOW (Work on Weekends) position. Schedules for WOW employees include every weekend (Nights - Friday & Saturday, Days - Saturday & Sunday). Employees in designated WOW position earn premium pay in addition to their competitive hourly rates and shift differential**
The ECMO Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the care of a patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The ECMO Respiratory Care Practitioner's role is to provide specialized care while maintaining and performing all duties related to the care of the ECMO patient in a needs based, neonatal, pediatric or adult critical care setting as determined by Coord or Manager, ECMO. Adheres to Norton Healthcare ECMO/Mechanical Circulatory guidelines and protocols. Serves as a member of the patient care team to assess, develop care plans, and act as a clinical resource for all providers. Provides patient and family support and education as needed. Participates in performance improvement projects and participates in quarterly education and simulation opportunities. Identifies problems and recommends ideas and solutions. Utilizes critical thinking skills and demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions in emergencies.

Qualifications Required:
Three years in a neonatal, pediatric or adult critical care setting as assigned
Associate Degree
One of: CRT or RRT RRT must be obtained within 12 months of hire. AND Respiratory Therapist (KY)
Desired:
Three years in respiratory in a critical care setting
Certified Respiratory Therapist (National) OR Registered Respiratory Therapist (National)
