Indee Labs is a biotechnology startup backed by SOSV, Y Combinator, Social Capital, Founders Fund and BroadOak Capital. The team at Indee Labs develops, markets and sells instruments for more effective engineered cell therapies starting with Hydropore.

Indee Lab’s non-viral delivery platform, Hydropore, is a robust solution that overcomes the limitations and costs of electroporation, viral transduction, and other non-viral transfection methods. Hydropore is being developed in collaboration with 3 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies, various biotechs and leading research institutions including UC San Francisco , Stanford , Medical University of South Carolina , the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease among others.

We are seeking a Bioengineer or Senior Bioengineer, Immunology to join the team full time to accelerate the biological development of Hydropore at our Berkeley office. Indee Labs is headquartered in Berkeley, CA and accommodates remote work. This position will be located in Berkeley, CA and occasional work travel may be required.

Maintain and troubleshoot cell culture automation work cell

Manage Hydropore chip and hardware inventory

Design, execute and analyze experiments independently and with other scientists

Communicate experimental plans, data, and progress proactively with a distributed team

Contribute to data analysis, writing and peer-reviewed publication of results

Document results in our electronic lab notebook

Requirements

Bachelors with 3 to 5 years experience, Masters with 1 to 3 years experience, Doctorate or Postdoc

Experience in cell culture of primary human cells and immortalized cell lines

Experience with flow cytometry/FACS and data analysis software (ie. FlowJo, Excel, GraphPad Prism)

On-site work at the Berkeley lab and office approximately 4 days per week

Preferred Skills

Interest in or experience with biomicrofluidics

Demonstrated research track record (i.e. publications & patents)

Primary immune cell transfection and transduction (i.e. enrichment, activation, cryopreservation, etc.)

Ability to work independently as well as lead others and manage a small lab

Comfortable creating presentations and presenting data

Experience with laboratory automation

Experience with Python and similar languages
