About The Role We are seeking a technically skilled and experienced Project Engineer to join our Electrical Department in our Boston office. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer with strong technical, coordination, and leadership skills to contribute to high‑impact projects and client success.
As a Project Engineer, you’ll play a key role in managing and executing electrical engineering projects from design through completion. You’ll collaborate across disciplines, communicate directly with clients, and help ensure that both technical excellence and project financial goals are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design on tenant fit‑out projects and serve as a key designer on base building/infrastructure upgrades; assemble riser diagrams, schedules, and floor plans; participate in specification writing
Assist in establishing design criteria from the project proposal and assemble basis of design documents
Assemble a complete set of contract documents for the trade, including layout of main equipment rooms, closets, shafts, risers, etc.
Lead design for trade’s ancillary systems required for a project and assemble scope-associated drawings (e.g., UPS, generators, fuel oil, secondary water pumps, water reclamation system, etc.)
Review shop drawings, RFIs, contractor change orders, perform site visits and punch‑lists with limited supervision to verify that designs are implemented accurately
Assist in establishing an efficient project schedule for the project team that ensures appropriate use of resources while adhering to deadlines
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
3–6 years of experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficient in all design calculations and software tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD) applicable to the discipline
Strong understanding of trade‑specific scope of project, trade‑related codes, and required coordination with other trades
Strong understanding of documentation requirements and content for each deliverable phase (e.g., SD, DD, CD and specifications)
