Senior /Director of Engineering – Colibri Ecosystem Platforms Colibri Group is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead technology strategy, architecture, and execution across the Colibri Ecosystem — spanning our diverse portfolio in Healthcare, Real Estate, and Financial Services.

This strategic enterprise-level role will define and drive the engineering vision for Colibri’s ecosystem platforms, ensuring our technology foundation enables growth, scale, and innovation across brands. The Senior Director will lead a global engineering organization of 50+ engineers, including managers and directors, and will partner with executive stakeholders to deliver on Colibri’s transformation and growth objectives.

The ideal candidate is a high-impact technology leader with deep experience in e-commerce and large-scale backend systems, a proven track record in AI-first modernization, and the ability to translate business strategy into scalable, high-performing engineering outcomes. Experience in EdTech or content-driven technology environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Technology Leadership

Lead Colibri’s Ecosystem Engineering Strategy, aligning technology architecture, innovation, and execution across all business verticals (Healthcare, Real Estate, eg).

Serve as the primary technology leader for ecosystem-wide initiatives, enabling interoperability, shared services, and unified architecture across brands.

Define and execute a multi-year modernization roadmap, moving toward cloud-native, API-first, and event-driven architectures.

Champion an AI-first mindset, driving automation, intelligent insights, and data-powered decisioning across systems.

Ensure that technology investments directly support business scalability, operational efficiency, and learner experience excellence.

Organizational Leadership

Lead and mentor a global engineering organization (50+ engineers), including multiple managers and directors across distributed locations.

Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement, enabling teams to deliver at enterprise scale.

Build and evolve engineering leadership capability to support Colibri’s long-term technology strategy.

Collaborate with HR and People leaders to drive engineering talent strategy, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.

Architecture & Delivery Ownership

Own end-to-end architecture and delivery of core ecosystem platforms supporting global brands and shared services.

Establish strong engineering standards and best practices across architecture, code quality, observability, and CI/CD.

Drive technical alignment and reusable platform components across Colibri brands to accelerate speed-to-market and reduce technical debt.

Partner with AI, Data, and Product teams to deliver intelligent, adaptive, and personalized experiences across ecosystems.

Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration

Act as the engineering voice at the ecosystem leadership table, partnering with Product, Data, and Business executives to align technology strategy with enterprise objectives.

Work closely with functional stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that enable new growth opportunities, improve platform efficiency, and support global expansion.

Represent engineering in executive forums and strategic planning, ensuring technology priorities are integrated into corporate goals.

Support key initiatives such as Content Engine 2026, brand migrations, and ecosystem platform convergence.

Qualifications Experience

15+ years in software engineering, with 7+ years in senior leadership roles overseeing large, multi-brand, or enterprise-scale engineering teams.

Proven track record leading global organizations (50+ engineers) including managers and directors.

Extensive experience in e-commerce systems, backend architecture, and platform engineering.

Strong understanding of AI/ML enablement, cloud-native modernization, and enterprise platform transformation.

Background in EdTech, digital content platforms, or learning ecosystems preferred.

Demonstrated success in cross-brand technology leadership and executive stakeholder management.

Skills

Visionary leader with ability to connect technology architecture to business strategy and growth enablement.

Deep technical expertise in AWS, microservices, API-driven architectures, and event-based systems.

Strong AI-first and automation mindset with practical experience applying AI to engineering velocity and product capabilities.
