Job Summary The Tax Experienced Senior, Transfer Pricing is responsible for utilizing research skills and working with tax software applications to prepare simple tax returns. The role involves gathering client information for appropriate tax filings, preparing tax accrual work papers, participating in the tax planning process, recognizing and communicating potential risks.

Responsibilities

Conduct transfer pricing studies involving the planning, documentation, audit defense and compliance stages.

Scopes, designs, and conducts the financial analysis related to intercompany transactions to benchmark or document appropriate intercompany pricing policies.

Completes supplemental financial analysis such as market penetration scenarios, calculation of the value of intangible property, and analysis of financial transactions (e.g., loan analysis, guarantees, insurance transactions).

Plans, schedules, and executes transfer pricing analyses under the direction of the STS Senior Director or STS Manager.

Manages deadlines and data due dates for assigned projects.

Utilizes standard databases to gather company information (e.g., Compustat, Amadeus, ktMINE, Edgar, 10-K Wizard, Bloomberg, Lexis‑Nexis).

Prepares project reports and presents consulting advice summarizing research, quantitative analysis, and results.

Participates in scoping calls, prepares draft proposals and engagement letters under direction of STS Senior Director or STS Manager.

Prepares presentations for current clients conveying results and recommendations.

Participates in client interviews to gather information on intercompany transactions.

Manages and reviews benchmarking work completed by STS Transfer Pricing Associates.

Applies understanding of audit, competent authority and APA process, statutory deadlines and requirements.

Prepares IDR responses and works with clients on audit arguments.

Applies transfer pricing in the context of tax provisions and ASC 740‑10, drafts memos for ASC 740‑10 analysis.

Develops an in‑depth understanding of technical and practical issues in one or more areas of taxation.

Maintains visibility in local offices and region, networking with core tax and assurance managers.

Supervises the day‑to‑day workload of STS Transfer Pricing Associates and interns, reviews work, provides guidance and feedback, mentors, monitors budgets and billings.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field (required); advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

More than three (3) years of work experience (required); experience within a transfer pricing practice (required); prior supervisory experience (required); experience with review of tax provisions from a transfer pricing perspective (preferred).

Software:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); prior exposure to S&P Compustat, Moody’s RiskCalc, 10‑K Wizard, ktMINE and other financial databases (preferred).

Language:

Intermediate understanding of taxation issues and opportunities.

Experience working across a number of industries.

Salary Range Individual salaries are determined after consideration of various factors. National Range: $74,550 - $147,000
