Job Description Cyth Systems is seeking a driven and technically skilled Sales Development Engineer (SDE) who engages with customers through our lead management process and identifies new sales opportunities. Your effort and skills will enable our sales team to focus on high‑value revenue generating activities by streamlining our sales pipeline and proactively working with customers to solve technical issues. This is an in‑office position in San Diego, CA.

Essential Functions It is essential to the SDE role that you possess a learning mindset rooted in humility, drive, and a high IQ & EQ. You must take initiative and ownership of your role and contribute as a team player. This is a very technical role demanding that you possess tech savvy skills and can track, prioritize, review, schedule, and execute on customer‑based tasks. You must have excellent communication skills that allow you to make interpersonal connections with engineers. The role demands excellent organizational abilities as well as strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to perform the following:

Comfortable working independently in a constantly evolving environment.

Balance your time between inbound sales demand, marketing generated leads, customer presentations and prospecting activities to generate new demand.

Develop test and automation expertise while supporting customers and their technical challenges through our sales process.

Collaborate with the sales team to understand their needs and optimize lead handoff processes.

Manage and prioritize a high volume of inbound leads and conduct initial qualifications.

Timely respond to prospect and customer inquiries.

Execute targeted outbound campaigns against tiered prospect lists, creating high‑intent opportunities and supporting overall pipeline growth.

Provide data driven insights to inform sales strategies and resource allocation.

Possess empathy and listening skills. You must understand the customer's needs and pain points through active listening and empathy. You must empathize with customers' challenges and effectively address their concerns.

Possess proven understanding of electronics, computers, and software programs.

Ability to continuously refine processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Ability to read and write in English and communicate with excellent grammar.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor of Science in Business or STEM

Strong desire to pursue a career in technical sales and marketing

Previous sales or customer facing experience

Experience with a CRM (Salesforce & Zoho)

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Strong knowledge of test automation and embedded control hardware.

Experience with National Instruments hardware and software products.
