Chelsea Piers Fitness seeks an enthusiastic, motivated individual to work as part of our team. Role & Responsibilities We are seeking a skilled and experienced Overnight Handyman Supervisor to oversee our nighttime maintenance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a variety of maintenance tasks, including drywall repair, painting, patching, ceramic tile replacement, floor refinishing, laminate floor installation, lighting replacement, and lock repair. This role requires a hands-on leader who can perform complex repair tasks while supervising and guiding the team to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Responsibilities Supervise and lead the overnight maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and on time. Perform a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks including, but not limited to: Drywall repair and patching Painting and surface refinishing Ceramic tile installation and replacement Floor refinishing and laminate floor installation Lighting replacement and electrical troubleshooting Lock repair and replacement Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify maintenance needs and address them proactively. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies and safety regulations. Train and mentor maintenance staff, promoting skill development and adherence to best practices. Manage maintenance schedules and prioritize tasks to ensure the most critical issues are addressed promptly. Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintenance tasks. Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption to operations. Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform necessary repairs to ensure safety and functionality. Document all maintenance activities and repairs in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Qualifications Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in maintenance or related fields preferred. Proven experience as a handyman or maintenance supervisor with expertise in drywall repair, painting, patching, ceramic tile replacement, floor refinishing, laminate floor installation, lighting replacement, and lock repair. Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects. Flexibility to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
