Care Manager Supervisor - (250002TD)
This position will require employees to be in the office (D.C) four (4) days a week.
The Supervisory Care Manager is responsible for the mentoring, training and clinical supervision of care management staff and oversight of staff caseloads of enrollees who have mild to complex medical and mental/behavioral health needs. This position has a broad knowledge base related to the needs of the Medicaid population and is an integral member of the Care Management Leadership team. The Supervisory Care Manager supports the operations of the Care Management Department through monitoring staff's adherence to quality and productivity standards; assisting with responding to enrollee's needs; and providing clinical supervision and leadership for compliance and performance improvement.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Social Work, or Health Services (Required). Master's Degree in Nursing, Social Work, or Health Services (Preferred).
Minimum Work Experience:
3 years progressive supervisory experience (Preferred). 3 years related experience in managed care and/or care management (Preferred).
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Understanding of Medicaid benefits; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Familiarity with computer systems and applications. Computer literate in Microsoft suite; Strong organizational skills; Ability to interpret and apply departmental requirements; Use good judgment; Work under pressure and meet deadlines; Provide exemplary customer service; Work independently and carry assignments to completion within parameters; Execute within prescribed routines and accepted practice.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Ind. Clinical Social Worker Licensed in District of Columbia Upon Hire (Required) or Registered Nurse Licensed in District of Columbia Upon Hire (Required). Certification in Case Management (Preferred).
Job Functions
Responsible for day‑to‑day operations of an assigned team.
Supervise a team of up to 12 licensed and unlicensed care management staff.
Review cases regularly with staff; act as a clinical consultant concerning care management issues; guide staff with reviews of assessments and care plans; evaluate utilization reviews and/or documentation.
Assist Associate Directors and Director in establishing, implementing, and ensuring care management policies, practices, and procedures.
Coordinate, develop and implement action plans to respond to areas of need in conjunction with Associate Directors and Director.
Lead and provide expert guidance and direct supervision to the team in assessment, planning, implementation, and coordination.
Assist the team with monitoring and evaluation of options and services to meet routine and complex health and behavioral health needs of members.
Monitor productivity through various reports; assign corrective action plans as needed.
Conduct regular team meetings in accordance with contractual agreement and as needed.
Complete all annual performance reviews for assigned staff.
Apply advanced problem‑solving and analytical skills to evaluate and address complex situations involving members, providers, staff and community professionals.
Submit routine and special reports as assigned or requested.
Participate in internal and external multidisciplinary team meetings.
Attend or conduct meetings with other government agencies or community organizations involved with enrollees.
Conduct weekly/bi‑weekly supervision with assigned staff.
Ensure assigned staff maintain caseload and contractual compliance metrics.

Works in an office environment.
Physical Requirements
Sedentary work: lifts up to 10 lbs. occasionally; occasional walking and standing required.
Travel Requirements
Frequent local travel; must have a vehicle or access to one.
