R0010103Job Description:Boston Conservatory at Berklee invites applications for Costume Shop openings as: draper/stitchers, wardrobe assistants, and hair/wigs/makeup assistants. Part of the Performance Services department, Costume Shop Overhires are casual, hourly employees reporting to and supervised by the Costume Shop Manager and staff.MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:* 1-3 years of experience in a professional theatrical/performance environment, in general/various operations or a specific areaKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES REQUIRED:* Must be able to work independently, take direction, move with urgency, remain diplomatic and calm in fast-paced situations* Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, FileMaker, and/or similar formats for record-keeping and communications is helpful* Interest in and knowledge of costume construction techniques, wardrobe maintenanceWORK ENVIRONMENT:* Indoor environments, some with low light: stages, backstage areas, dressing rooms, costume shop, props storage, office spaces, closets, catwalks* Seated and standing positions* May work closely with student workersSPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS, ETC:* Some nights and weekends required* Local travel may be required (valid driver’s license necessary)* May be required to be able to lift and move 40 pounds* May be required to be able to climb stairs, laddersADMINISTRATIVE CONDITIONS* Final compensation offered is based on applicants’ experience, potential, level of specialization, and is determined by Berklee HR.* Accepted candidates will join Berklee’s payroll and submit hours worked via Workday as appropriate.**Hourly Rate:** $22This document does not create an employment contract, implied or otherwise, other than an “at will” employment relationship.
